As a board certified surgeon, Dr. Draughn performs surgery of the head and neck (thyroid, parathyroid and carotid disorders), breast, skin and soft tissue (including breast cancer), abdomen (including gallbladder, liver, pancreatic and spleen disorders), digestive system (including hernias, hemorrhoids, appendix and colon disorders), as well as traumatic injuries.

Dr. Draughn has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery which can greatly reduce the pain, risk and recovery time for many patients. Dr. Draughn advocates minimally invasive surgical techniques performed on an outpatient basis when clinically appropriate and uses laparoscopic surgery to repair hernias, perform cholecystectomies, appendectomies and other procedures. In addition, Dr. Draughn has training in the latest ultrasound and stereotactic techniques for evaluating breast, thyroid and parathyroid conditions.
